IoAI announces collaboration with WEF on Global AI Action Alliance

AI has the potential to contribute over $15 trillion to the global economy by 2030. But it will only achieve its potential if it is used responsibly and in the global public interest.

The World Economic Forum has today launched the Global AI Action Alliance, a new multi-stakeholder initiative that brings together organisations from the public, private, and non-profit sectors to ensure that AI’s benefits are realized and shared equitably across society.

The Institute of AI is delighted to announce our involvement in this project, driving cutting-edge projects focused on key impact areas and unmet needs.

Alongside other Alliance members, we will collaborate to implement the best available tools and practices for using AI responsibly and maximising its societal benefits, in particular for groups that have been historically underrepresented in the AI ecosystem and/or underserved by AI systems. We believe the Alliance will help to create real-time collaboration and exchange between the public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors, breaking down silos and accelerating learning and action.
